Criminal Record Certificate: One of the fundamental documents for any residency application is the criminal record certificate. This document helps immigration authorities determine whether the applicant has a criminal history outside of the country. In the event that there is a record, the Immigration Authority will request additional documentation.
Key Points:
The criminal record certificate must be presented with its proper apostille or legalization.
It is valid for six (6) months from the date of issuance, not from the date of the apostille.
Ensure the document is in good condition and free from damage.
Birth Certificate: Birth certificates play a pivotal role in confirming the identity of the applicant. In many countries, two types of birth certificates exist: short and long certificates. The short certificate contains basic information such as name, surname, date of birth, and place of birth. In contrast, the long birth certificate includes additional details, such as information about the parents. For residency purposes, it's essential that the birth certificate contains the information of both the parents and the applicant.

Birth certificates don't have an expiration date, but they must be in good condition.
Different countries may have specific rules regarding apostilles.
Marriage Certificate: When applying for residency as a foreign couple with one member as the principal applicant and the other as a dependent, the marriage certificate becomes vital. Immigration authorities request this document to demonstrate the relationship between the applicants.
Key Points:
Marriage certificates are valid for six months.
Ensure the marriage certificate is readily available if applying as a couple.
Additional Documentation: Immigration authorities may also request supplementary documentation to support your residency application.
