Our Services
Residency as Retiree (Pensionado)
This option is available to people who are currently retired and receive retirement income of at least $1,000 per month. The income can originate from a pension from the Social Security System or Pension System in your home country. Also, this category can be applicable to people who receive income for disability.

Residency on Fixed Income (Rentista)
The Rentista category residency can be applied in two ways, both require a prove of fixed income.
The first option is to deposit an amount of $60,000 USD in a Costa Rican bank account that has approval from Immigration. Scotiabank, Bank of Costa Rica, and Promerica are examples of accepted banks. The second option is showing proof of income equal to or greater than $2,500 USD per month for a minimum of two years. Both options require a certified letter from the bank.

Residency as Investor
Investors should invest $150,000 USD under your name.
If you or your spouse, have invested $150,00 USD in qualifying projects, or $100,000 USD in a forestry project, individually, you could qualify for temporary residency.

Residency under Marriage
This category is applicable who marry a Costa Rican. After two years of being married and residing in Costa Rica, you can apply for citizenship.
The marriage must be registered with the Civil Registry (Registro Civil) in order to be valid for residency purposes.
This category also requires an interview with the couple and must be completed at the Immigration Department in order to confirm the legitimacy of the marriage. For this category, we should present joint lease agreements, affidavits from friends and relatives, and photos.
This category is for one year and requires renewal annually, once you accomplish the third year, you can apply for permanent residency.

Residency for Parents
Foreign nationals who have children born in Costa Rica are eligible for permanent residency.
Each parent must apply for residency as the principal applicant.
Minor children who are not Costa Rican citizens are allowed to obtain residency as dependents.

Digital Nomad Visa
The Digital Nomad Visa allows you to extend your 90-day tourist visa for a full year, with the option to renew for an additional year. Digital nomads are exempt from income tax and enjoy other benefits, including the possibility to open a domestic bank account in Costa Rica and homologation of your home country’s Driver’s License.
